In addition, the band announces a fall North American tour, as well as releases the first issue of the Sleep Comic Book , written by bassist and songwriter Al Cisneros. “Have Spacesuit Will Travel” begins Sleep’s first mission without Matt Pike on guitar. The music and art are alive and after the decades of obstacles that Sleep has overcome, it is time to move forward and make songs and albums. Al wishes Matt the best on his earth bound maneuvers. Alongside Cisneros, the latest incarnation of Sleep features Dale Crover on drums and Bubba Dupree on guitar. Dale has been in some serious bands, like the Melvins and Redd Kross . That Al would seek him out makes sense, an almost elementary choice that probably wouldn’t raise too many eyebrows. Bubba Dupree, from the fiercely loved band Void , hailing out of Columbia, MD, is a pick that is not only completely mind-blowing, but a choice no one would have seen coming. Just the thought of Bubba, who was amazing from the first Void shows on, playing guitar in Sleep is almost too much for the mind to comprehend. Al Cisneros, Bubba Dupree, and Dale Crover as a trio looks really good on paper, but the only way to see if it worked was to get everyone in a room and play. Al says the answer made itself evident immediately: “The vibe of the first jam was obvious. It was blue sunglasses-era Iommi in the quality, and equally awesome is Bubba is also one of the coolest people I’ve been able to make music with.”

A storyteller at heart, her music blends warm indie-folk textures with the rawness of alternative pop, capturing life’s quiet moments and loud emotions with equal weight. Originally from southeast Texas and now based in Nashville, Grace’s songwriting is deeply personal yet universally resonant, shaped by the in-between spaces of growing up, letting go, and learning to stay present. When she made her musical debut in 2021, she released her EP, “We’ll Be Alright,” which climbed the iTunes singer-songwriter charts. Her debut full-length album, There Are Two Sides to Everything (2023), is an exploration of contrast—hope and doubt, longing and contentment, the past and the future—all wrapped in lush melodies and thoughtful lyricism. Weaving lonesome troubadour folk ballads alongside chaotic psychedelic out-forms these melodies have been a vehicle to evoke hazy rain-soaked afternoons, melancholic inner thoughts, and expanding colorful dreams. The band has spun various themes over the years, from reverb-drenched mythological hallucinations to drifting acoustic downer folk, and now finds itself washed out in surrealism, black and white stills, and multidimensional Kodachrome reels. This performance will be performed with a full band and will be debuting new material off their upcoming release. Temp Wishes is the new project from Josh Chicoine (The M's, Cloudbirds, Cult Canyon), Edward Anderson (1900s, Mazes), Colby Starck (Mar Caribe, Bobby Conn), and Glenn Rischke (AM Slingers, Bora Bora, Arks). After a stint in the Chicago indie group, Sabers, Chicoine, Anderson, and Starck started to write and create demos for what would become Temp Wishes in their northside studio in late 2018 right up until the pandemic. A few years passed, as they will, and the group reconnected, vowing to piece this set of psych-folk flecked tunes into something resembling a record, if only to finish it. Like ear-worms, each song morphed itself into a little sonic world with faded, illusory memories and concise easy melody and groove, pushed up against lo-fi sheen. This is the record release show for Temp Wishes' eponymous debut on Rattleback Records and vinyl copies will be available.

Originally written for and performed with a traditional four-piece band, Keiko's music has been reimagined and rearranged to highlight the infinite expressive and creative capabilities of percussion. The members of Bridge Percussion and Sachi Keiko first crossed paths as students of Northwestern University's classical percussion program, but have since come together to create music that goes beyond their classical roots. With this performance, they aim to showcase their shared passion for music in a way that blends influences from traditional chamber playing and orchestral percussion with elements of indie songwriting. By blending percussion and voice, they've crafted a performance that is unique, approachable, and demonstrates the versatility and limitless possibilities of the modern-day percussion ensemble.
