The Kinks, The Zombies, The Bee-Gees, Nick Drake and Buddy Holly all hold special places in his musical mind too. Phil is the current lead singer and guitar player for Material Issue, a Chicago power-pop band who made it big in the early '90's (they had videos on MTV when that was cool). Now known as Material ReIssue, opening for The Smithereens is one of his favorite moments on stage in fact! Other great moments in Phil include opening for Marshall Crenshaw, Richard Furay (Buffalo Springfield), and Eddie Money, plus the Beatles album shows. The *ahem* experience of this guy is key. His music came out first on vinyl, then cassette, 8-track, cd's, then back to vinyl. Through all 14 solo albums Phil's melody's shine, blending cool pop grooves with sweet harmonies. Join us at SPACE for Cactus and Canyons, as we heads west for a night celebrating the music of Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne, Little Feat, Crosby, Stills, Nash Connor, Chris Merrill (Birds of Chicago), Allegra Malone, Andon Davis and Dave Nelson (Heartsfield), Gerald Dowd, Dan Ingenthron, and John Pirruccello come together to put their own stamp on the music that defined a time, a place, and a sound that never really left us.

He appears on over 50 albums and recently released his 14 th album, Live at SPACE. Dave appears on compilation recordings with B.B. When Malcolm Todd graduated high school in 2022, he told his parents he would be taking a gap year to pursue music. They, unsurprisingly, were less than thrilled by the proclamation, but gave him a year to see if it could work. They learned what the rest of the music industry quickly realized: never bet against Malcolm Todd. ?Every single day since I told my mom I wanted to do this, I have actively worked to grow my fanbase, to get better at music, to build this world,? he explains. By the time he shared Sweet Boy in 2024, his day job at Cold Stone was in the rearview. Tracks like ?Roommates? were racking up millions of streams daily. Model Cars is an Indie Rock band from Chicago Illinois that expresses different shades of grief and angst from slow emotional melodies to upbeat garage rock riffs.
