Angine de Poitrine with zouz

Disciples of planet Earth?s rock deities, space-time voyagers Klek and Khn de Poitrine gaze in wonder at hot dogs, pyramids, and rock music in all its glorious excess. Since the release of Vol. 1 in 2024, Angine de Poitrine are in the eye of an ever-growing storm of enthusiasm from audiences, critics, and music industry?s main actors. After delivering electrifying performances at Quebec?s major festivals, including the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, Angine de Poitrine sets their sights on the prestigious Trans Musicales in Rennes. All these facts are strictly reserved to the humanoids: Angine de Poitrine are simply thrilled to play rock ?n? roll.

Mareux

Thursday, December 3 Mareux * blood club * Future Nobodies $25 Adv. / $30 Day of / 18+ / Doors: 7pm / Show: 8pm Mareux is the decade long electronic solo project from LA based musician and producer Aryan Ashtiani that has sparked an international cult following. His often romantic brand of darkwave, and songs like “The Perfect Girl,” have signaled a cultural paradigm shift across the online world that has united people across diverse subcultures. In describing Mareux’s sound, reviewer Fabrizio Lusso puts it best, “Mareux‘s moody and strongly emotional electronic laden lo-fi approach straddles the line between synth-pop, coldwave and post-punk in a stunning and infectious blend of thick glacial beats, lustrous synth stabs, sparse droning elements, vigorous bleak bass pulsations and a superb passionate voice, flavored by a mournful shadowy-goth feel, a seductive 80s flair, and sometimes subtle groovy r&b inflection.”

Mike Cooley (of Drive-By Truckers)

Mike Cooley is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter, best known as a member of the Southern rock band Drive-By Truckers. The Alabama musical style blends elements of rock, country, and Americana, and he is recognized for his sharp, evocative lyrics and distinctive guitar work. As one of the band's primary songwriters, Cooley has written numerous iconic tracks for Drive-By Truckers, with his songs often exploring themes of personal introspection, Southern identity, and social commentary. Alongside bandmate Patterson Hood, Cooley has been a driving force behind the band's evolution since their formation in the late 1990s, contributing to their gritty, honest sound and critical success. In addition to his work with the band, Cooley has pursued a solo career, releasing his debut solo album The Fool on Every Corner in December 2012. The album showcases his storytelling prowess and ability to create poignant, introspective songs with a more stripped-down, intimate sound compared to his work with Drive-By Truckers. Known for his wit and keen observational style, Cooley's solo work highlights his versatility as an artist, cementing his place as an influential figure in contemporary American roots music.
