Susan Werner doesnt just perform music she reinvents it every time she steps on stage. A virtuoso guitarist and pianist with a voice-trained musicians precision and a storytellers wit, Werner has spent more than two decades building a reputation as one of the most original and entertaining performers on the acoustic music scene. From elegant jazz-pop inspired by George Gershwin and Cole Porter to gospel, Cuban son, and New Orleans piano grooves, Werners catalog refuses to sit still. Whether shes crafting sharp, funny observations or deeply moving songs, her performances blend intelligence, humor, and jaw-dropping musicianship into an unforgettable live experience. A featured guest on Marian McPartlands Piano Jazz and composer/lyricist for Bull Durham, The Musical for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Werner continues to push boundaries with every project. Her latest recordings, The Birds of Florida and Halfway to Houston (2024), showcase an artist still exploring new territory and making it sound entirely her own.

Soulful rocker Lauren Anderson brings a powerhouse voice, raw honesty, and fiery stage presence to every performance. Born in Chicago and raised in a home overflowing with music, she absorbed a wide spectrum of influences---Susan Tedeschi, Bonnie Raitt, The Pointer Sisters, Eva Cassidy, Etta James, Joss Stone, Kelly Clarkson, and more. Though her voice now lives in blues, soul, and rock, Lauren's roots are deeply classical. She began piano at eight, sang in multiple choirs, and pursued classical voice through high school and college. She earned her Bachelor's degree in vocal performance from Augustana College, including a transformative summer in Novafeltria, Italy, studying Italian and touring as an opera student. Opera was the original plan---until she discovered she was meant to belt, wail, and testify through soul and blues.

The Bosman Twins share the stage, giving each other generous space, whilst maintaining that connection which only truly gifted musicians have. Their music can roar and whisper, yet it always strikes at the soul. Jazz is a music of the spirit and the Bosman Twins make it a music of the heart too.

DogTime! is a new work by Chicago bassist, composer, and interdisciplinary artist John Sutton. This seven-piece ensemble will explore experiences of duration, repetition, instinct, and attention. Structured as four movements --Hunter, Herder, Guide, Guard-- the work explores combinations of repetition and pulse as fundamental elements shaping musical time. Through improvisation, the ensemble navigates distinct environments, moving between stability and uncertainty. Sutton's practice spans creative music, composition, film scoring, and collaborative performance. Working within traditions of free improvisation, jazz, and experimental forms, he develops systems that create space for individual expression within collective structures. DogTime! extends this approach into a performance that invites musicians and audiences alike to consider their relationship to time and presence, through which our experience takes shape. This project is partially supported by an Individual Artists Program Grant from the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.

Secure your seat in advance, or grab your ticket at the door for $30 (if available; advance purchase highly recommended). $25 General Admission is a relaxed, free-flowing late-night blues set where artists stretch out, special guests musicians often sit in. Entry begins at 10:30-11 PM. Shared-table and bar seating are available as space permits. To secure guaranteed seating, guests should arrive between 8 PM and 9 PM. Guests arriving after 9 PM will be guaranteed entry, but seating will be based on availability. Rosa's Lounge ensures that you and your friends are seated together if you purchase tickets under the same name. Please note that we cannot hold seats for late arrivals or no-shows.
