An Evening With Steve Dawson with special guests Jason Adasiewicz, Jason Roebke, Diane Christiansen and Alton Smith

One of the lynchpins of Chicagos flourishing songwriter scene is Steve Dawson, a songwriter and vocalist who elevates everything he touches. - WBEZ Chicago An evocative, brilliant songwriter who imbues his songs and recordings with folk, country, and a smattering of soul he should, by all rights, be a household name. - Popmatters Steve Dawson will look back over 35 years of songs and music making, including songs from his first Chicago band, Stump The Host, through Dolly Varden, Funeral Bonsai Wedding and up to his more recent critically acclaimed solo albums, Ghosts, and At The Bottom of a Canyon in the Branches of a Tree. Over the course of 6 albums with Dolly Varden, 4 solo albums, and 2 albums with the jazz / folk combo, Funeral Bonsai Wedding, Dawson has delved into all corners of American music and dug deep into the mysteries and wonders of life, mortality, love and memory. Dawson will be joined by a few guest musicians for this evenings show. Originally from San Diego, California, he spent his teen years in Hailey, Idaho, where he learned guitar and started writing songs. After a few years at the Berklee School of Music in Boston, Dawson moved to Chicago and formed the band, Stump the Host, with his future wife, artist and singer, Diane Christiansen. Later he formed, recorded and toured with Dolly Varden and Funeral Bonsai Wedding. More recently he has created critically acclaimed solo albums for the Pravda record label. Dawson also teaches songwriting at the legendary Old Town School of Folk Music and co-wrote a book on songwriting and the creative process with Mark Caro called, Take It To The Bridge: Unlocking The Great Songs Inside You. In 2020 Dawson was awarded the Esteemed Artist Award from the City of Chicago.

JESSE ROPER Returns to FITZGERALDS Nightclub!

FITZGERALDS NIGHTCLUB PRESENTS: Jesse Roper Returns to FITZGERALDS Nightclub $20 General Admission / Reserved Tables Available Jesse Roper is a modern-day troubadour; a Canadian artist defined by his authenticity and adventurous spirit; guitar in hand and a grin on his face. Jesse, along with long-time bandmates the Pretty Good Band, has spent much of the last few years travelling the highways, byways and backroads of North America, bringing his own brand of modern, indie-infused Americana blues to fervent audiences across the continent. Known for his powerhouse live performances, Jesse is truly electrifying on stage - his soulful vocals expanding across silky guitars and hard-hitting grooves. You'd never guess that this soldier of the six string - all mischief, mayhem and virtuoso guitar playing - experienced crippling stage-fright long into his 20s. Today, the stage is his home and he's inviting you in, cold one in hand, for one helluva good time. Of course, he's more than a magnetising stage presence and great hair - Jesse has the goods to back this up. A master at connecting his personal experiences to his songwriting, he crafts wildly entertaining narratives of the challenges and eccentricities of life, pulling inspiration from all that surrounds him. His musings on love (both won and lost), the call of the road and the promise of what's round the corner draw similarities to JJ Cale, Leon Bridges, and Alabama Shakes. His innate musical talent and flexibility of style have seen him play with soul icon Booker T. Jones, rock veteran Colin James, blues belter Beth Hart, and Canadian legend Burton Cummings. Across streaming platforms, he's racked up over 500,000 monthly listeners and millions of streams. While based in Victoria BC, Jesse is back on the road with the Pretty Good Band throughout 2026. All seasoned musicians themselves, the band is Matt Reid (bass), Chris Van Sickle (keys), East Coast Pete (guitar) and Brent Norman (drums). , "rdquo" -> Each one of these guys on their own is funnier and smarter than I am, but somehow I'm the band leader," Jesse laughs. , "rdquo" -> I'm a lucky lead guy to have these cats in my band. They're Pretty Good." Grab dinner before the show at BABYGOLD BARBECUE Or enjoy full service dining inside the club when doors open. ***PARKING*** There is rather limited street parking in the area, we recommend arriving by rideshare, bicycle, or rickshaw. ***AGE RESTRICTIONS*** 21+, minors admitted with guardian

Willow Avalon – Pink Pocket Pistol Tour

This show is all ages, but anyone under 21 requires accompaniment by a parent/legal guardian of parental age for entry. About Willow Avalon: Originally from Georgia and now based in Nashville, Willow Avalon's musical journey began with her first word, "Elvis." Raised by her mother and grandmother in a small Southern town, she grew up playing piano in church and taught herself guitar at age 12, using songwriting as both an escape and a means of self-expression through a life-journey that has been anything but straight-forward. Her much-praised 2025 debut album, Southern Belle Raisin' Hell, cemented her as one of country music's most compelling new voices, blending classic country, Americana, and pop influences. She has performed at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, CBS Mornings, and the Grand Ole Opry, as well as festivals like Stagecoach, C2C, CMA, and Lollapalooza, bringing her electrifying presence to global audiences. With a sharp wit and rebellious spirit, she has shared stages with legends and rising stars alike, including Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Zach Bryan, Cage the Elephant, Paul Cauthen, Charles Wesley Godwin, and more. Solidified by sold-out headline tours in North America, Europe, and Australia, as well as hundreds of millions of views across social content, Willow Avalon is redefining what it means to be a modern Southern storyteller.
