Improvement Movement / Jalen Reyes

Doors: 8PM / Show: 9PM / 21+Improvement Movement, the social betterment campaign/prog-rock quartet/non-denominational cult from Atlanta, GA, have made a new record just for you and your modern day malaise. Its called Your Perfect Real Life, because, well, theres a lot going right these days, right? Arriving August 21, 2026 via ATO Records, Your Perfect Real Life is prismatic, angular, jumpy, and eccentric. Its sure to inundate your ears, corporeal form, and spiritual body with equal parts unadulterated bliss and realist catharsis, or, in other words, as much good as you can reasonably feel these days. Set in a world of chaos where the news seems to be perpetually recounting stories of planes falling out of the sky, urban wildfires, the uncanny nature of a southern snowfall, and schlepping ads that feel plucked from a sci-fi movie, Your Perfect Real Life makes an earnest case for embracing lifes relentless unpredictability. Animated by the bands baroque take on the angular harmonies of grunge, the records eleven tracks sprawl and simmer, enlivened by the Improvement Movements novel employment of dynamics, sticky melodies, four-part harmony, and a treasure trove of experimental instruments. If youve ever found yourself enraptured by the lush harmonies of Fleet Foxes, the theatrics of early Genesis tracks, or the candid intimacy of Art Garfunkel, Improvement Movement may be for you. Improvement Movement is a democracy, and so they say, things move slow. That may be true for the internal machinations of the band, but their output has been quite regular. Each member of the band, who have largely been eschewing definition, are songwriters and instrumentalists who have spent the better part of a decade in the fertile DIY scene in Atlanta, GA. In that time theyve been swirling, relatively undisrupted, in their own primordial ooze and rubbing elbows with folks from the no wave, punk, improv, and free jazz scenes. Atlanta is about as DIY as it gets, they say. Weve got some of the most killing musicians in the world all spread out on these kinds of islands of urbanization. Theres always something new. That said, the band hasnt been in Atlanta much lately; they were on the road relentlessly over the last two years, supporting Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Iron It was a gauntlet, trying to live day by day. There was no room for anything with too much premeditation.

Twin Talk: Delights Album Release

Chicago trio Twin Talk's new album title, Delights, is affably tongue-in-cheek, but it's not wrong. While the title Delights plays on listeners' expectations for a breezy set of delectable melodies, in actuality the group's tricky interplay consistently challenges that presumption. But Delights is no misnomer as these 11 tracks never lose a sense of joy as they unfold into the prismatic, intuitive musical conversation that has marked this band's sound for more than a decade. Saxophonist Dustin Laurenzi, bassist-singer Katie Ernst, and drummer Andrew Green have spent the last fifteen years making music that has grown ever-more elastic, spontaneous, and open, embracing new inspirations without stifling the improvisational heart of their work. While all three musicians are active members in Chicago's bustling jazz community, each playing in numerous working bands (Laurenzi tours with singer-songwriter Bill Callahan, Ernst is in the touring band for folk artist Iron & Wine, and Green ubiquitous on the Chicago indie/jazz circuit), they've found a true collective voice as Twin Talk. They use live performances as opportunities to stretch—expanding on composed material and ditching set lists in favor of calling tunes on the fly.

Patrick Wolf

BIO Patrick Wolf released his first E.P. at the age of 19, a groundbreaking debut of classical, folk, and electronic music that set the pace for a stellar decade, releasing seven self-produced and solely written albums and performing multiple laps around the globe on tour, amassing an ever-growing and dedicated, spellbound audience. A viola, piano, dulcimer, harp, lyre, and tenor guitar player, Patrick’s decade of critically acclaimed work, touring, joining Patti Smith's band, collaborations with Florence Welch, Marianne Faithful, Angelo Badalamenti, and rapid, stellar ascent led to a sudden retreat from the industry where a decade of personal trial ended with a renaissance and reconnection with his work and vocation, documented in a feature film biopic documentary slated for release at the end of this year, executive produced by Tilda Swinton. Last year, he released his seventh album “Crying the Neck”, an end-of-summer folkloric odyssey set in the landscape at the end of the East of England where Wolf lives and works. The album’s success brought him back to his North American audiences; for his first tour in over 13 years, he embarked on a ten-week tour driving himself from east to west coast, where he discovered not only his fanbase had been waiting all that time, but a brand new one had grown in his absence in the States. The success of last year's tour brings Patrick back to North America this year with “The Tour of the Beast”, this time an extensive East to West coast and back again routing with a coinciding 7” single and release campaign, launching two new songs to the States and ringing in the next era of Patrick Wolf. The first, a bombastic harpsichord banger and outsider anthem “The Beast”, partly inspired by conversations had in the meet-and-greets of last year’s tour and a hymn of solace, initially written as a response to Camus's "The Myth of Sisyphus”, a lyre and vocal lullaby called “The Laughing Dove”. House Party

A sweaty love-letter to the 2010s rager returns. Party with hundreds of your closest friends at House Party. The chaos and thrill of a 2010s rager. Louder, sweatier, and no neighbors to shut it down. Mid-2000s anthems, bloghouse, your skinniest jeans, and the kind of night that feels like it’s happening in a thousand blurry photos. The soundtrack? LMFAO, Skrillex, A$AP Rocky, Swedish House Mafia, Passion Pit, Rihanna, MGMT + more. The soundtrack of nights you wish you could remember. (Or maybe forget.) Shutter shades. Neon bracelets. Disposable cameras. A little reckless, but never forced. This isn’t nostalgia. This is muscle memory.
