The Whistler

The Whistler Jam is an open session for jazz musicians of every stripe — players, improvisers, and explorers alike. Anchored by Whistler vets Matt Ulery (bass) and Quin Kirchner (drums), the house band kicks things off at 9:30pm with a short set before opening the floor for an all-night jam that runs until last call at 12:30am. Join us on the first Tuesday of each month at The Whistler. Every Tuesday and Wednesday at the Relax Attack Jazz Series, we present Chicago's top jazz artists in a lively atmosphere, full of cocktail-shaking and spirited conversation.

"The Bridge" is a transatlantic exchange program featuring musicians from Chicago and France. This is the 23rd edition we've hosted at the Whistler! The Bridge is supported by Ministère de la Culture, Sacem, Centre National de la Musique, Spedidam, Adami and Institut Français. The Bridge #2.3 has been made possible through Jazz & New Music, a program of Villa Albertine and FACE Foundation, in partnership with the French Embassy in the United States with support from the French Ministry of Culture, Institut français, SACEM (Société des auteurs, compositeurs et éditeurs de musique) and the CNM (Centre National de la Musique).
