About this event
Qamil is a Columbus-based indie R&B/Soul artist creating music rooted in intimacy, connection, and the stories we carry. Beyond the music, she builds spaces for artists and audiences to come together through live experiences and community. Davida dares her listeners to embrace the fusion of jazz, R&B, Pop, Soul, and Alternative rock that is her music. She expresses her artistic talents not only in her performance, but also in her music creation Kacie Brown & The Vision is a neo-soul/pop collaborative band based in chicago. The band's early remnants started at Columbia College, where each member was a student in the music department, eventually forming the band for a competition. Not too soon after, the band evolved into this six-piece ensemble which includes bandleader and vocalist Kacie Brown, pianist Miles Pretel, guitarists Chris Ihrig and Stephen Ryan, bassist Sam Nesin, and drummer William Penne. This band is collaborative meaning, all members either help with the writing, arrangement, or production of the tunes. Influenced by the ever-expanding soul genre, Kacie Brown & The Vision blend these elements into an engaging musical experience.
