Silverada: Mike Harmeier formed the band now known as Silverada in his early 20s, building it from five-hour dancehall sets in Austin into a globally recognized ambassador of Texas country music, with milestones ranging from Abbey Road Studios to the Grand Ole Opry. Their ninth and self-titled album, Silverada, marks both a creative evolution and a symbolic rebirth, blending the band's signature twang, pedal steel, and blue-collar storytelling with bolder experimentation and expansive production. Written largely in Harmeier's backyard studio and recorded with longtime collaborator Adam Odor at Yellow Dog Studios, the album balances roots-driven authenticity with atmospheric rock influences, improvisation, and lyrical risk-taking. The result is a confident, forward-looking statement from a seasoned road band ready to redefine its sound, elevate its live show, and step into its next chapter. Kelsey Waldon: Since signing to John Prine's Oh Boy Records in 2019, Kelsey Waldon has built a reputation for fearless honesty and hard-won authenticity. On her latest album, Every Ghost, she confronts addiction, grief, generational trauma, and self-forgiveness, emerging stronger and more self-assured. Recorded in Memphis with her band, The Muleskinners, the nine-song project centers on compassion — for herself, her family, and those still struggling — while honoring her Kentucky roots and late grandmother. Blending introspection with independence, the album closes with a powerful Hazel Dickens cover that underscores Waldon's belief in personal freedom and resilience. A Kentucky Colonel and 2024 American Currents artist at the Country Music Hall of Fame, Waldon continues to define "true outlaw" country on her own terms — unflinching, grounded, and unbreakable.
