Cortex is an R&B artist from Malmö, Sweden, now based in Los Angeles. In 2025, he released his debut full-length project, VELVET NOIRE, followed by his 15-track sophomore album, For What It's Worth, in 2026. The album featured rising rapper Matt Proxy, known for collaborations with Grimes, fakemink, and Curren$y, and debuted in the Top 200 on both Apple Music and Spotify. Cortex has earned recognition from established artists and producers including Sam Tompkins, Jordan Adetunji, and Odeal, alongside acclaimed producers Haan and Anthoine Walters. Blending intimate songwriting, lush production, and infectious melodies, Cortex is helping shape a new generation of Swedish artists pushing R&B beyond its traditional boundaries.
