Slippers is a rising American lo-fi power pop project fronted and created by Los Angeles-based animator, illustrator, and musician Madeline Babuka Black (who performs under the moniker Madeline BB). Known for a signature style that blends raw power-pop simplicity, twee punk, and 1960s-inflected garage rock, the project delivers brief, highly infectious melodic songs that rarely exceed the two-minute mark. There's other project with the same name: SLIPPERS was an Italian dance-project consisting of the producers D. Tignino & P. Legato. Slippers is also an instrumental, funk-jazz band from Long Beach, CA. They are currently in their second decade of performing and recording as a group. The individual members bring a wide diversity of musical backgrounds, styles and influences to the band and give a collective dynamic that lets them blend and experiment with new as well as classic sounds and textures.
